GROOM… Ryan Gildea

WEDDING DATE: 10.06.16

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Ryan and I met whilst living in Dubai. We lived in the same apartment building and got introduced through a mutual friend at the gym. I remember thinking he was a bit handsome however ignored him for a good six months but he pursued…good things take time right. I actually remember telling my friend (she ended up being my maid of honour) that I thought I may end up marrying him! Three years later we got married.

HENS DAY ANTICS

WOW. Second best night of my life! My bridesmaid did a great job and hired a hotel room. We had cheese platters, fruit punch and lots of champagne and played some games and of course there was the standard entertainment..

LOCATION

We wanted a traditional Catholic Ceremony and loved St Augustine’s as soon as we went to see it. It was a perfect size and in a great location. Circa The Prince was AMAZING! I fell in love as soon as I saw it and being that Ryan and myself are not from Melbourne it was great that guests were able to stay at the venue.

STYLING

I wanted our wedding to be elegant like a black tie event. I wanted it to also be classic, modern and sophisticated. I wanted to stick to the colours white & gold. I knew exactly what I wanted so did not get a stylist however I did get the help of “Table Art ” and they were great with supplying beautiful big glass candle sticks and lovely gold candles.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I saw Erin & Tara on Instagram and it was actually the first thing I booked as I knew I definitely wanted them to photograph our wedding.

THE DRESS

It was so overwhelming and the problem was I loved everything!! I ended up changing my dress a few months out as I decided against sleeves. I love high necks and wanted something that was going to be modern and elegant but also a bit sexy. The big train, veil and lace were non-negotiable. I absolutely loved my dress it was so amazing

HAIR: Marie from UVA Salon

MAKE UP: Chantelle Baker

SHOES: My shoes were Jimmy Choo’s I found them way before I even started looking at dresses!

BRIDESMAIDS

I had two bridesmaids and my very clever Mum found their dresses online at ACLER

GROOMSMEN: Hugo Boss

FLOWERS: My Flowerhouse

The team did the best job especially with the bridal table. The team was just so easy to deal with. They had amazing ideas and were such a great help.

THE BEST ADVICE I WAS GIVEN

Don’t start drinking until after the speeches and after eating! I remember my friend telling me that I wouldn’t be able to eat a big breakfast due to nerves and it would be a long time to wait to eat so drinking early on with an early stomach would not have been ideal.

YOUR ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES

My advice for future brides would be to start paying off things very early on so that things are paid off in advance!

Also, have a guest book. We love reading ours with the messages people have left.
