Wearing our Lola wedding gown and sheath veil to match, Danielle and Joshua created a stunning NYC event.

BRIDE… Danielle

GROOM… Joshua

WEDDING DATE… May 19, 2016

WHEN AND HOW WE MET

We met at a work conference approximately four years ago. At the time Josh was living in Brisbane while I was here in Melbourne. The long distance didn’t last very long before Josh moved to Melbourne four months later.

OUR WEDDING LOCATION

New York City! It’s the best city in the world and we both absolutely love it. Given I had travelled to New York City several times before I felt comfortable planning a wedding from Australia. We knew what we wanted and where we wanted everything so it was actually quite easy. We had a morning ceremony at the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park, which was followed by a beautiful lunch reception at ‘Eleven Madison Park.’ We then headed off to a nearby cocktail bar ‘Dear Irving’ to cap off the day.

THE BEST ADVICE I WAS GIVEN

If things go wrong, let it be. Take a minute to stop and enjoy the moment because its goes so fast.

WHAT WAS YOUR NON NEGOTIABLE FOR THE DAY?

For Josh and I it was definitely the reception venue. We love our food so we wanted to share an amazing dining experience with those who travelled so far to share our special day.

HENS DAY

I held a ladies lunch at The Smith in Prahran. It was a beautiful relaxing afternoon with all of my favourite girls. We then continued on to Morris Jones for post lunch drinks.

CEREMONY: Bethesda Fountain, Central Park

RECEPTION: Eleven Madison Park

PHOTOGRAPHY: Jordan Jankun Photography.

This was one of the more difficult decisions given we were so far away. One of my work colleagues recommended this photographer. His friend recently had Jordan photograph their wedding and said they were very pleased.

THE DRESS

I had an idea as to what I wanted but was never close-minded. I tried on various styles and colours but inevitably knew I wanted a strapless, floor length gown in a sheath/mermaid style and that is exactly what I ended up with. The girls were fantastic in guiding me through the process and creating a dress that I absolutely loved and wish I could wear again.

SHOES

The shoes I chose were the YSL metallic gold Jane shoe. It took me forever and a day to find the right shoe but after many near purchases I finally found the perfect pair.

GROOM: Ted Baker
