JACQUI • A One Day Bride

On a 42-degree day Jacqui and Dave celebrated their love at home. On the banks of the Murray, this rustic backyard wedding was one hell of a celebration.

Beating tradition in our Delphi gown, Jacqui made a perfect One Day Bride.

BRIDE… Jacqui

WEDDING DATE… 5th March 2016

Dave and I met at a local wine bar… we started talking and haven’t stopped since.

Our home! We had no need to look any further. On the banks of the Murray River in Echuca, Moama we have a beautiful old wool shed built in 1868. Our setting was perfect! Except it was a hot 42.5 degrees – it made for a beautiful evening under the stars.

We ran with a native floral theme; masses of native florals, vintage furniture, all under the stars with plenty of festoon lights and candles. We built a seven-metre structure over top of the dance floor, which was covered by fairy lights for the night time. We incorporated as many features of the river and the heritage listed backdrop as we could; rusted chains, ladders, milk vats, bed heads, lanterns; we had timber from the heritage listed shed sawn down and we used them as table tops etc.

Make sure your wedding represents you! Other than that, just enjoy! Be organised and clear with your suppliers. If it hasn’t come together by the day, it wasn’t meant to happen.

We had a huge party the following day which we were really glad we had – poolside setting and lots of food and a few more bands. It gave us an opportunity to sit and really relax with all of our guests; lots of laughs about the shenanigans from the night before (a few more created).

We agreed we wanted this to be a true ‘celebration which reflected us’. It was most important to Dave and I that all of our guests had a great time. As for the decorations lots of lights and flowers, we knew the bands we wanted to play throughout the afternoon and night, our cake was three tiers of jelly shots. The photo booth (an old rusted ring strung from a tree with florals) We knew we wanted everything to be totally relaxed, lots of picnic rugs, cushions, garden games and of course the very popular cocktail bar. I liked the idea of the flower bar for people to wrap up flowers and take them home and of course, I loved my dress!!!

River boats music festival in Echuca. It was a great three day weekend with friends, sunshine and plenty of bubbles.

Our friends from Essence Duo sang our song, Never tear us apart, as Dave and I and our daughters arrived.

I knew I didn’t want a white dress but whilst I loved everything I saw I couldn’t find anything suitable – I was just about to give up when I saw the Delphi dress hanging at One Day Bridal – we made some changes and it was perfect!
