Georgia • A One Day Bride

Dressed in our Florence wedding gown with the perfect pair of Jimmy Choo’s Georgia and Sam created a warm and intimate wedding. Styling the venue on their own, Georgia loved the process and with the help of friends and family, the wedding was everything this couple could have hoped for.

BRIDE… Georgia Blyth

GROOM… Sam Magnano

WEDDING DATE… 02/01/2016

Sam and I met while working together about eight years ago. We started out just friends, but after a work Christmas party… we got to know each other a little better. We started talking and that soon led to our first date. From there we’ve been together ever since.

I had only looked at two or three venues – not too many at all! I wanted somewhere that I could have both the reception and ceremony. This was a must for us. When I found Leonda by the Yarra, I fell in love. The room was amazing… Glass windows all around, with a beautiful view of greenery and a part of the Yarra that you could see from the room and the gorgeous courtyard. The venue had a lot of photo opportunities as well (a jetty, bridges, local gardens and a stunning white wall). Something that also sold us was being able to arrive and depart by boat.

The style I went for was a rustic/classic look… The venue had many different set ups which suited this look with a beautiful view to the ceremony area that was set up with white bench seats, silver buckets with a floral arrangement and a white carpet runway. I couldn’t have done it better. I then did a lot of research trying to find different things to bring the rustic feel of the ceremony inside. I chose hessian wraps for around the white linen chairs, white table cloths for the tables, a beautiful mixture of flowers with an assortment of vases and flowers, handmade candles – that had hessian bows around them, wooden boxes to dress the entrance table and a rustic bird cage.

I absolutely loved styling, making and finding different pieces to style my wedding. I did put a lot of effort into what I wanted the final look to be. I had the help from my family, bridesmaids and Leonda staff, who were so amazing and were willing to change and help make my day everything I wanted.

To make sure that I take it all in because it goes way to fast… And it did!

A pair of Jimmy Choo’s. I had looked and looked for other shoes but I went straight back to buying a pair… I couldn’t resist!

It was a surprise weekend away! We stayed at a beautiful house in Dromana. Everyone arrived Friday afternoon, we watched a movie and had some drinks. I got told to be ready by 11am the next day and that a ride will be picking us up. We got on a fun bus and headed to the Yarra Valley area. We had a three-course meal at one of my favourite wineries, Chandon. It was amazing!

Soon after we headed back to the house where there were still more surprises to come. Some of the girls took me for a walk along the beach. When I got back there was a topless waiter there to make cocktails for the night. There were also some fun games played too. It was an amazing weekend.

CEREMONY + RECEPTION: Leonda by the Yarra

Amazing staff and venue. They were very helpful, accommodating and helped us to create a day we will never forget.

CELEBRANT: Danielle Binaisse

She is just so lovely. She honestly takes her job very seriously, made both of us felt so comfortable and wrote us a beautiful love story that she put so much effort into writing.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Tizia May Photography

Amazing photographer and a beautiful person. I would highly recommend her. The time she spent on the phone to me before hand, asking me where I wanted to go for photos to what family photos did I want taken. She put a lot of time and effort into the editing, printing and album making, that I cannot thank her enough for. Everything was amazing!

HAIR + MAKE UP: Make Up by Chloe

I would like to thank Chloe Gibson (Make up by Chloe) for doing my bridesmaid’s hair and myself. She is both a hair stylist and make-up artist. She is very professional and caters to your needs. You can find her on Facebook.

The Florence gown and tear drop veil

I had seen the Florence gown on a couple of different social media pages and I fell in love! So I made an appointment. This is when I met Kyha. She was very excited that I had never tried on any dresses before, so she got me to try on a couple of different styles. As soon as I was put on the dress, I felt that it looked amazing. I walked out from the dressing room and my mum had tears coming down her face. She told me that my face said it all, I hadn’t even looked in a mirror and I was already so in love with it. A couple of days later I went back in and ordered my dress.

SHOES: Jimmy Choo

They were a gold sparkly sandal heel with thick cross over straps. They had a short heel, as I knew I had to wear them for such a long time.

I had three bridesmaids who all wore the same dress from White Suede. Before I had gone back to One Day Bridal to confirm my dress, I had already picked out the bridesmaid dresses from the internet. After speaking to Kyha and confirming my dress, I then took my bridesmaids to try the dresses on and I bought them the very same day. They looked amazing. They were a white and tan/nude colour. They looked very simple and elegant.

FLOWERS: Style me Petal by Tessa-Rae

The bouquet arrangement was just stunning. I wanted something really simple with a lot of neutral colours. And it was what I got! My maid of honors bouquet was a size down from mine and my other two bridesmaids were a size down from my maid of honors. This gave it a different effect.

Tessa-Rae created some beautiful floral arrangements for each table centerpiece. These consisted of neutral flowers with some greenery and a range of vases all different sizes.

CAKE: Cakes of Distinction

The cake was three tiers and each tier was two cake layers… It was quite tall! It looked very modern yet rustic with the colours and flowers used to decorate it. It had a simple ripple effect on the outside. All three layers were chocolate, it was so delicious. We have saved the top tier to open up on our one year anniversary.

DJ and MC: John Beck

I would highly recommend John! He is very professional and takes the time to meet and really get to know you. This helped him create a night that I will never forget. No words can describe how fun and jam packed our dance floor was. This was something I wanted. He even helped Sam surprise me with a rose for our first dance!

There were many different ideas floating around my head about what gifts I should give to my guests. Should I get everyone a candle made? I had no idea. Until we were at a wedding and they had donated money on behalf of the guests to breast cancer and ovarian cancer foundations. This gave us an idea. Sam and I both have very good friends that were/are touched by some horrible conditions/diseases. So in the end we decided to donate money to Blue September Foundation and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). We brought wristbands from Blue September and key chains/pins from MS foundation that we attached to cards we made up. Sam did explain in his speech why we did this and how much these people mean to us both in our lives.
