Claire and Tim were married at a private family home in Mannerim. The event was relaxed and intimate which was exactly what they were after. As for the dress, it was love at first sight for Claire.

BRIDE…Claire Hassett

GROOM…Tim Walker

WEDDING DATE…Friday 29th May 2015

Tim and I met on a few occasion over a couple of weeks as we had some mutual friends. It wasn’t until a friend’s 21st that we got together.

We were incredibly lucky to be able to have our wedding at the Walkers property. After we got engaged we looked high and low for a location but nowhere really grabbed us. At a similar time Tim’s family had found this property, the first time we went there we knew instantly that’s where we wanted to be married. My in-laws only moved into their new house only a couple of weeks before the wedding so it was a little hectic leading up to the day.

We didn’t really have a style as such. We are both very low key, no fuss so that’s exactly what we wanted our wedding to be like. We were lucky enough to have our ceremony in the outdoor area of the house then the reception was in the house, alfresco and deck area. I was incredibly lucky to have some very talented family members that assisted with getting the house ready and decorated. They also made the most beautiful arbour for the ceremony.

INSPIRATION…I love looking at One Day Bridal, Ivory Tribe and Pinterest.

THE BEST ADVICE I WAS GIVEN.. Don’t treat the day like a production, its one day and the day where you marry the one you love so embrace everything that is thrown at you.

DANCING!! All I wanted was to bust a move with my friends and have a packed dance floor.

HENS DAY.. Very low key an afternoon of bubbles with girlfriends.

CEREMONY: Walker family property, Mannerim Victoria

CELEBRANT: My beautiful friend and talented celebrant Jo Betz.

PHOTOGRAPHY: I had heard amazing things about Matt and Hailey from Hails and Shine, looked on their website and Instagram and loved their work. Speaking to Matt prior to booking, we definitely had the same ideas on what style of photos we were after. They were easy to have around on the day, not intrusive and captured so many moments.

THE DRESS: I had our son five months earlier so wedding dress shopping did not start out as an enjoyable experience. I originally looked for a dress off the rack and was left devastated and a little concerned about what I was going to be wearing on my wedding day.

I had been told about One Day bridal by a friend, looked on their Instagram and found Jean. It was love at first sight!!! As soon as I tried on Jean I knew she was the one.

Loved the whole experience of fittings, meeting Kyha, Steph the girls at One Day Bridal, they sure know how to make you feel comfortable and having a custom made gown was just an incredible experience.

HAIR & MAKE UP: My fabulous hairdresser Bex at Berdi looked after us girls with our hair.

We had Hilary Holmes come do our makeup. Absolutely loved her, she was awesome with advice and input to our looks.

BRIDESMAIDS: I had three bridesmaids and was set on making them feel as comfortable as possible. We went up to David Jones, I told the girls to find whatever they wanted, I wasn’t fussed on colouring or styles. So I was surprised when they all picked navy.

FLOWERS: I used Flowerbowl. I loved their work; I sent a photo of a bouquet I liked and left it with them. The bouquets on the day were absolutely stunning, I loved them.
