I have ordered a dress with One Day Bridal. Will covid-19 affect the production of my gown?

All our gowns are currently completed within or even before four to six months of being ordered, as per the timeframe initially noted in your contract. One Day prides ourselves on ensuring all our brides receive their gowns well before their wedding date to allow time for alterations and finishing touches.

Will I still be able to order a dress for 2020 and 2021?

Absolutely, One Day is accepting 2020 and 2021 brides and we are looking forward to bringing your dream gown to life. We suggest to begin planning early and to consider the timeframe of four to six months for a gown to be created, as well as the number of brides who will begin their planning in late 2020.

Studio consultations

Our One Day Bridal studio has opened its doors, offering Private One on One consultations from Thursday to Saturday. Our brides will have the opportunity to invite a loved one to attend their consultation and of course, their bride squad are welcome to join in with a glass of bubbles via zoom on a large screen. All of our brides will be contacted prior to their consultation by phone, giving our expert stylists an opportunity to better understand which gowns our brides are most interested in trying during their visit.

To ensure the health and safety of our brides and staff at One Day Bridal, we will be conducting temperature checks upon arrival and there will be a limited number of consultations per hour. Our private consultations will run for 45 minutes, allowing time for our bridal stylists to sanitise the boutique before and after consultations.

Virtual and concierge consultations

One Day is proud to continue to offer virtual consultations and a gown concierge service.

For brides that are beginning their shopping journey but are unable to physically visit our boutique or our stockists, our virtual consultation service allows brides to meet with a stylist via a video call, during which we will showcase several gown options that have been selected especially for the bride, all whilst she remains in the safety of her own home.

If our brides have fallen in love with a Chosen by One Day style, but are physically unable to visit one of our stockists (find stockists HERE), our concierge service allows brides based in Australia the opportunity to try her favourite gowns on in the safety of her own home, accompanied by our stylist on a video call.

What are your business hygiene practices?

To ensure the health and safety of our brides we are taking careful measures to limit the amount of contact our staff and brides have, as well as taking stringent santisiation measures. We will be conducting temperature checks upon arrival and there will be a limited number of consultations per hour.

For studio consultations, all appointments are private and we are inviting our brides to bring along a loved one, with the rest of your bride squad joining via a large screen video call. The consultation space and gowns tried on will be fully sanitised before and after each bride.

Whilst partaking in our concierge service, to ensure our brides health and safety, all gowns used as part of our concierge service are dry cleaned or washed before each bride slips them on.

When being packaged and upon delivery, all gowns are handled with gloves by our professional concierge team.

Our South Melbourne studio charges a $50 consultation fee. This fee assures that our bridal stylists time is assigned to your incredibly special consultation. The fee is redeemable with a gown purchase.

Online consultations and phone calls are complementary and do not incur any charges.

Our Chosen by One Day gowns take 4 months to be created and our One Day gowns take 6-9 months to be created. As a result, we recommend looking over our website and instagram for inspiration and booking into our boutique as soon as possible to allow ample time for your gown to be lovingly created before your wedding. We can work with rush time frames depending on availability and rush fees often apply.

If a gown is available to ship that suggests we have a gown created in your size ready to purchase and shipment. Please allow 5 business days for your gown to be quality assessed before being dispatched. Additionally allow 4-10 business days for your gown to be delivered to you by tracked post.

Made to order gowns are created specifically for you and generally take 4-9 months to create depending on the style.

Chosen By One Day gowns are typically made in one standard size, however, in some cases, gowns can be made to order for customers in a split size customisation should this be required.

Many of our gowns have the option of extending the hem or train by a set amount should you require this customisation. Additionally, many gowns are offered in multiple colours and with varying liners to add an element of personalisation to your gown. One Day Gowns

The One Day bridal experience includes a made to measure experience whereby small elements of customisation are often possible.

We recommend trying on your gown after a shower to avoid contact with moisturiser, deodorant or makeup. If applicable, removing fake tan through exfoliation is also advisable. Additionally, we recommend trying on your gown on clean, carpeted or tiled flooring.

Each week One Day Bridal delivers gowns to 30 global stockists, as well as global brides seamlessly. In the unlikely event your product does have a fault, One Day Bridal is happy to arrange return postage, as well as a repair or replacement.

Before your wedding, we recommend storing your gown bag in a cool, clean and dry environment.

After your wedding, we recommend dry cleaning your gown with a dry cleaner who specialises in wedding gowns specifically. Within Victoria, Australia, we recommend Syndals Dry cleaning. If possible, we recommend purchasing a gown box to store your gown in. Ensure your gown box is then stored in a cool, dry and clean environment.

Our sizes are unique to our brand and are based on a brides bust, waist and hip measurements in centimetres.

Before purchasing, we recommend carefully taking your measurements, see measuring guide here and referencing our size guide here to find your most applicable size.

Should your measurements fall into differing size brackets, we do offer a split sizing customisation as an option for many of our gowns. This customisation is an additional fee however this change ensures that your gown is created closer to your unique measurements.

We recommend measuring yourself with a soft measuring tape in centimetres.

For your bust:

Wrap the measuring tape around your chest lining the tape up so that it meets across your nipples or the centre of your breast.

For your waist:

Wrap the measuring tape around the smallest part of your waist, typically around your lowest rib.

For your hips:

Wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your hips, typically at the top of the buddocks.

In the event that your bust, waist and hip measurements should fall into differing size brackets, we do offer split sizing as customisation option for many of our gowns.

Split sizing fees do apply, and the split size and measurements need to be specified before placing the gown in your bag online or before purchasing your gown in studio.

The measurements that you provide at the time of initial purchase are the measurements that will be taken into account when your gown is put into production and is made.

Changes to these measurements cannot be made should your measurements change after the point of purchase, so we advise our brides to take their time when measuring themselves and seek advice from our expert bridal stylists here if you are unsure.

Your gown is made in the size or split size that was initially indicated to one day bridal at the time of purchase and cannot be changed thereafter. Whilst we are happy to offer advice where applicable, all alterations and changes to gowns will need to be arranged and orchestrated at the expense of the bride.

Our standard sizes and split sizes are designed to be accurate to measurement brackets, however it is important to note that these brackets do not equate to each curvature and beautifully unique proportion of your body.

In almost all cases, industry wide, gowns will need alterations after completion to ensure your gown is perfect for you. We strongly urge our brides to arrange to have alterations upon receiving their gown and to budget for this within their gown process.
